My Thursday Thirteen today has to do with cooking, celebrity chefs and becoming a foodie. When I was younger the "joy of cooking" wasn't the hot trend it is now. You were either a Suzy Homemaker, a professional chef or a lousy cook - the word foodie hadn't been invented. We did have a few cooking shows located on public access television but if you told us there would one day be a whole network devoted to cooking and food I doubt we would have believed you! Think you know good food from bad? Are you a foodie with high standards? Fancy yourself as a bit of a critic? Then The F Word wants to hear from you. We’re looking for Britain’s next big food critic – someone who can compete with conventional food critics.
Everyone who submits a video will be in with a chance of a seat at The F Word restaurant.

The Great British Food Fight Posted 2 days ago at 20:21 | 1 comment | Gordon Ramsay, Jamie Oliver and Hugh Fernley-Wernley are joined by Heston Blumenthal for this year's Great British Food Fight season on Channel 4, in which they'll no doubt be explaining the value of liquorice-flavoured ocelot as a price-beating food source. However, the trailer for it is worth watching, even if you're not a foodie, if only for the appearance of a certain DeLorean and the general 'camaraderie'.
